Facade Directions are pleased to announce they have gained the contract to supply the road side Bomb Blast Mitigation Facade system for the new Perth Domestic Terminal.
They will supply Sapa’s E85 Powerframe Product which will be installed by Alcom Fabrications.
Construction is now underway on the new $120 million domestic terminal adjacent to the current International Terminal. Designed to meet the needs of air services for regional Western Australia, particularly the resource sector, as well as some interstate services, the terminal is being built by Broad Construction Services WA Pty Ltd.
With Perth Airport again being recognised as the fastest growing Australian capital city airport with 9.4 per cent growth during the last financial year, commencement of these works is timely. The new terminal, which is due for completion at the end of 2012, will provide improved facilities and services to cater for many of the 11.5 million passengers that travelled through Perth Airport last year.
The new domestic terminal and aircraft movement area will be larger than both the existing domestic terminals, about the size of five Subiaco Ovals, with the capacity to cater for up to 36 aircraft.
The new terminal was designed by leading architects and interior design practice, Hassell, with environmental sustainability also at the forefront of design.
